Really the A/S series tires are a real compromise if you really seek to push your car.Your vehicle isn’t just a car or truck. ![]() And winter will destroy A/S in wet and snow conditions. Ok it may be a stretch to consider an old Volvo a performance car, but that has yet to be seen in my case.Ī decent summer tire will destroy all on the dry and wet. Now that I switched to dedicated summer and winter setups I am never going back to A/S tires for a performance car (SUVs minivans or whatever are fine, who cares). With all that said the DWS and Mich A/S3 were rated "the best" at the times I purchased them. (remember that dedicated summers don't like under 40F) My best guess is that these are perfect for cold temp environments that do not see snow. If you have any snow just forget these tires. Really IDK how they even got a snow rating. Beast! Almost comparable to dedicated summer tires. The top traction rated Mich A/S3 was a beast at wet and dry. Too much flex in the sidewall and were noisy and bitchy when pushed. Now the DWS were great in the actual snow and rain. IMO if at all possible run dedicated winter/summer tires! (read that twice - let it sink in) I have run the DWS (not 06) and Mich A/S3, plus a few more a/s tires that are not noteworthy. ![]()
